Ben Platt is an American actor, most known for his work starring as Benji in the film Pitch Perfect and in stage musical Book of Mormon.
Platt is the fourth of five children to Marc and Julie Platt. His father is a film, television and theater producer whose credits include Wicked. At age 11, Platt took part in a brief national tour with Caroline, or Change (originally by Jeanine Tesori and Tony Kushner. Platt studied at Los Angeles' private Harvard-Westlake School graduating in 2012.

On October 21, 2013, it was announced that Mr. Platt would be reprising his role as Elder Cunningham in the Broadway production of BoM beginning in January 2014.[2][3]
He has also collaborated on a workshop of Alice by Heart, by Duncan Sheik and Steven Satera as a new take on the classic Alice in Wonderland.
In 2013, Platt was nominated for "Choice Movie: Male Scene Stealer" for his role in Pitch Perfect during the Teen Choice Awards.
