Darul Huda Islamic University is an is a private and Islamic University, non-profit university in Malappuram district, Kerala,India .[2] this university is an educational institute of higher religious learning It is equivalent to an unaided and non-affiliated Indian madrasa.[3][2] Established in 1986[4] it is a Sunni institution for the training of Islamic scholars in India.[5][6] It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.[7]

From 2009, it has claimed the status of a private Islamic university;[8] and from 2010 it has been affiliated to the League of Islamic Universities, Cairo, Egypt.[9][5] However the UGC, India's only official body with the power to accredit universities, does not list it as a university.[10]

Darul Huda University campus is located in Chemmad Malappuram district, Kerala area, which is commonly known as 'Hidaya Nagar' of Chemmad city. The Darul Huda University is a part of 50 acres owned by the DHIU

Recognition and Equivalency

DHIU has also been recognized by various national and international universities by signing MoU with universities across the world including International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), University of al-Qarawiyyin, Morocco, Kuwait Islamic University, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University of Brunei, Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan, and University of Tripoli, Libya.[citation needed]

National arts festival

Every year the various clubs of the university organize their own cultural festivals. One Notable fests are the University arts Club's Darul Huda national arts fest [11]

Fatwa council

The Fatwa council[12][13] will analyze newly arising questions and accordingly, issue jurisprudential verdicts based on Shafiit’s legal texts and methodology. The fatwa council l is an exclusive platform of scholars formed to deal with all kinds of newly emerging issues from the Islamic perspective . The council consists of scholars with good grounding in jurisprudence under the supervision of distinguished scholars of fatwa council of Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulama.
