WiJungle is an enterprise cybersecurity product company, headquartered in Gurugram, India. It provides a unified cybersecurity platform for private and government sector organizations.[4][5] The company operates in more than 25 countries.[6]

History

In 2014, co-founders Karmesh Gupta and Praveen Gupta established HttpCart Technologies and launched WiJungle as a free Wi-Fi service in April 2015.[1][7] However, by November 2015, the service was shut down as the company ran into losses due to high operational costs.[8] The company then switched to providing Wi-Fi management software to the hospitality sector, but the product was unsuccessful as data prices saw a decline due to the launch of Jio.[1][4]

In 2017, the company reintroduced WiJungle as a unified network security product for enterprise clients.[9][10] In April 2022, the company raised seed funding at a valuation of $22 million from American venture capital firm SOSV.[11][12]

Product

WiJungle offers hardware and cloud products for enterprise clients covering network firewall, router, link load balancer, SD-WAN, WAF, NGFW and DNS security among others.[13][14][15] The platform runs on a proprietary operating system, WiJungle OS, which is based on the Linux kernel.[4]

Awards and Recognition

In 2021, American technological research and consulting firm Gartner recognized WiJungle as the highest-rated vendor globally, in its Peer Insights 'Voice of the Customer': Network Firewall Report 2021. [16] In August 2022, the product received ICSA Labs certification.[17]. WiJungle has been recognized for its startup ethos from the state of Rajasthan that includes peers like CarDekho, Aayu, and DealShare. [18]
