Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde entstand durch die zwischen 1972 und 1975 erfolgten Eingemeindungen und Vereinigungen von Böhringen, Dietingen, Gößlingen, Irslingen und Rotenzimmern. In das neu geschaffene Wappen sind die Spitzen aus dem Wappen der Grafen von Sulz und der St. Galler Bär aufgenommen worden, letzterer als Hinweis darauf, daß St. Gallen in Dietingen und Gößlingen Besitz hatte. Die Urkunden über Güterschenkungen an das Kloster zu Ende des 8. Jahrhunderts enthalten die ersten schriftlichen Erwähnungen beider Orte. Die Grafen von Sulz standen im Mittelalter zeitweilig als Ortsherren oder anderweitig in Beziehung zu vier Ortsteilen. Das auf historische Gemeinsamkeiten der Gesamtgemeinde hinweisende Wappen und die Flagge wurden am 21. November 1977 vom Landratsamt Rottweil verliehen.
