Hotel Indigo is an American chain of small, individually owned boutique hotels, which is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts (InterContinental Hotels Group). As of September 2023 it had 149 hotels with 19,529 rooms worldwide, and stated that it planned to open 129 more.[1]
The first Hotel Indigo opened in Atlanta, Georgia, US in October 2004[2] and a second location opened in the historic Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois in May 2005 (later being foreclosed and re-branding as the Claridge House).[3] The chain's first non-US property, which in 2017 became the independent Metcalfe Hotel,[4] was opened in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
In July 2019 at the Traverse City, Michigan Hotel Indigo, a murder-suicide took place in room 318, blocks away from the National Cherry Festival. [5]
