Islam in Guinea-Bissau is the predominant religion of the country. An estimated 46%[1] of its roughly 1.8 million citizens are followers in 2023. Some estimates put this at a higher figure.[2]
The vast majority approximately 99.2% are Sunni of Maliki school of jurisprudence, with Sufi influences.[3]
