Jean-Pierre Canihac is a french musician of Early Music, member founder of Sacqueboutiers. Solist of international ensembles, he has performed under the conduction ofJordi Savall, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Nickolaus Harnoncourt, René Clemencic, Andrew Parrott, William Christie and Philippe Herreweghe. He has taught the cornett and natural trumpet in international academis of ancient music like Saintes, Genève, Barcelona and Daroca.

In 1989, was named professor of Département de Musique Ancienne du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon.
