Keshavarz (Persian: كشاورز; also Romanized as Keshāvarz; also known as Kashāvar)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Keshavarz District of Shahin Dezh County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran,[4] and also serves as the administrative center for Keshavarz Rural District.[5] Keshavarz is on the Zarrineh River.
At the 2006 census, its population was 3,538 in 940 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,904 people in 1,154 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,138 people in 1,248 households.[2] The city is populated by Azerbaijanians and Kurds.[8]
