Kieron Adrian Pollard (born 12 May 1987) is a cricketer who plays for Trinidad & Tobago and the West Indies.
A right-handed allrounder, he scored 126 on his first class debut for Trinidad and two games later he brought up another century, 117 against the Leeward Islands. His innings included six sixes and he brought up his hundred off just 71 balls. He made an equally impressive start to List A cricket, smashing 87 on his debut, against Guyana, where he got off the mark with a six and later hit another three of them in a row off left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul.
He played in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka and he was named in the West Indies 15-man squad for the 2007 World Cup and made his debut against South Africa in the Super Eight stage. In the exhibition match for the Stanford Superstars against Middlesex during the 2008 Stanford Super Series he smashed 26 off just 9 balls, which included 3 consecutive sixes and feats such as these have earned himself a reputation as a prolific striker of a cricket ball.
In the 2009 Champions league T-20 for Trinidad & Tobago, Pollard hit 54 runs in just 18 balls in the 15th match against New South Wales in Hyderabad. This earned the man of the match award and his side a crucial win. His display of hitting was so impressive that NSW approached Pollard after the game and attempted to sign him for themselves.[1]
Pollard also represents the South Australian Redbacks in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, and has signed for Somerset County Cricket Club for the 2010 England Twenty20 competition.[2]
