Kudumbasree Travels is an upcoming Malayalam film directed by Kiran starring Jayaram and Bhavana in the lead roles. It is a family oriented film, with Jayaram playing the role of Aravindan, a bus service owner who hails from a family of Chakyarkoothu artists.[2] Kudumbasree Travels marks the debut of Kiran and Thomas Thoppikodi, who are well known faces in TV serials. The film also stars Jagathy Sreekumar, Janardhanan, Mamukkoya, Maniyanpilla Raju, K. P. A. C. Lalitha and Kalpana in other pivotal roles. The film started its shooting on September 2010 and major parts were filmed from Ottappalam.
The story takes place in a small village in Kerala called Chithirapuram. A group of innocent people from the village sets out to the town to attend the marriage of their friend Aravindan, a Chakyar Koothu exponent. They travel in a bus named Kudumbasree Travels.
Aravindan's uncle Pachu and his friend Nittar are conspiring against his marriage to the rich girl Aswathi. Instead Pachu wants Aravindan to marry his daughter. On their way to attend the marriage, the group meets Sreedevi who keeps a lot of secrets and the story takes its turn at this point.[3]
