A centibillionaire is someone with a net worth of 100 billion (100,000,000,000) or more units of a given currency, generally of major world currencies such as the United States dollar, euro or pound sterling.[1] This neologism is, however, a misnomer, being based upon an incorrect application of measurement prefixes. The prefix centi is a multiplier of one hundredth, rather than one hundred (for example, a centimetre is one hundredth of a metre). Thus, a centibillionaire would have a wealth of only ten million dollars, euros or pounds, a discrepancy of four orders of magnitude from the intended value. The correct term would be hectobillionaire.
The following is a list of everyone who has ever been a centibillionaire.
