The coat of arms of Lumumbaville.

Lumumbaville is a planned settlement in the Katako-Kombe Territory of Sankuru province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is named after independence leader Patrice Lumumba who served as the first prime minister of the country.[1] The community was announced by Azarias Ruberwa, the Minister of Decentralization and Institutional Reforms in 2013.[2]

In May 2013, the city's administration was set to envelope "the current locations of the city of Wembo-Nyama and the Ewango group",[3] which was done in June 2013 with support from Ruberwa.[4] The city's purpose is to serve as an urban hub for the otherwise remote Kasaï-Oriental which could be a tourist spot, due to the area's significance in memorializing Patrice Lumumba.[1]

As of February 2022, Lumumbaville remains in the process of setting up elements of its administration and infrastructure.[5]
