Nominations

Isner–Mahut match at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships

How many record breaking tennis matches are there? Simply south (talk) 14:19, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Uxbridge Lido

Kbthompson suggested some time ago that I nominate any articles on lidos that merit showcasing. Grade II Listed Uxbridge Lido is interesting as it was closed for many years, but is reopening as part of a larger sports complex on 23 March this year. Perhaps showcasing should wait until after the opening when there are photographs of the renovated lido.--Lidos (talk) 10:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

  1. Support - why not? Simply south (talk) 14:19, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Docklands Light Railway

provisionally selected for November 2009

A fine article on its way to featured status. Showcasing this would also begin to redress an imbalance, as I don't think any articles on East London have appeared on the Portal as yet. [talk to the] HAM 17:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

University College London

An education article is provisionally timetabled for August 2009; as this is just prior to the start of the academic year. Further suggestions are welcomed.

There's been no coverage of higher education in London on the portal as yet, so I suggest showcasing this Good Article. Ham 18:31, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

London congestion charge

Just re-promoted to featured article, it would be nice to see it on the portal. I obviously have a self interest in this one. Regan123 (talk) 18:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Bruce Castle

A grade I listed building, used as the museum and archive for Haringey. Kbthompson (talk) 18:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Now at GA - congrats! Kbthompson (talk) 10:10, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Serpentine (lake)

A central London landmark with an interesting history, most of which is ignored by the thousands who pass it every day. (Disclaimer: I wrote most of this) – iridescent 17:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Tower Subway

A lengthy, well-written article on an almost totally-forgotten piece of engineering history. – iridescent 17:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway

This is a brand new companion article to the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway above. I am the author of both and I have just put this up as a Featured Article Candidate. --DavidCane (talk) 02:24, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
