Shiv Nadar University is a private deemed university located in Greater Noida, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.[3][4] It was founded in 2011 as part of a series of initiatives launched by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation founded by Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of HCL.[5][6][7]

History

The university, established in 2011 on a 286-acre campus, had Nikhil Sinha as its first Vice-Chancellor. On February 1, 2016, Rupamanjari Ghosh succeeded him as the second Vice-Chancellor.[8] After completing her second term, she passed the leadership to Dr. Ananya Mukherjee on January 31, 2022.[9]

In 2023, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked Shiv Nadar University 95th overall in India[10] and 62 among universities.[11]
