I have to say, yes it is an occupation as it is a job a few people do for good money (look at the Warrens). This is not some kind of endorsement , as both "occupation" and "professional" means you get paid to do it, not that you are any good at it (or indeed that what you do is not a con job). Can you suggest a WP:RS for "Demonology is also known as a career path"? Perhaps more relevantly as an editor, would you think it worthwhile including such a statement to preface brief mentions of prominent demonologists? NebY (talk) 19:02, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know, I was quoting this, which is where this started. There's a difference between saying that so-and-so made money or a living out of being a demonologist and saying that demonology is "also known as a carreer path" or "also known as an occupation"[1]. I wanted to learn about the opinion of other Users regarding sub-categories for belief-systems/religions without mentioning any relevant information regarding the topic? Specifically Judaism. The entire section just says "there is no demonology" "Lucifer is not a demon" and "there are some demons however"? How does this relate to an encyclopedic article about demonology? I agree with the inclusion of the "Judaism" section, but since it is included to compare/contrast with the other branches perhaps it should be at the end of the "Abrahamic religions" section rather than the beginning. Brunton (talk) 10:08, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah you were talking about the term 'Abrahamic Religion'. Maybe next time you only revert the relevant edit as given in the edit sumamry and explain your reason, instead of just reverting everything and then let other editors guess what you mean. The term 'Abrahamic religion' is hardly an academic term, but I am not here to edit-war with you over definitions on a minor subject. Just stick with the proper revert guidlines next time, cause now I have to restore the content manually (except you have something to object to that aas well, but then you had to point it out explicitly).
