I've found some sources to cite regarding his death, but it didn't seem appropriate to include the simple fact to link from in any of the existing sections; perhaps someone more ambitious than I am right now could take on a rewrite or adding a section:
Neither of those are appropriate as sources, though. There should be a real obit soon from a WP:RS.
