"Burchard Scholars selected". MIT News Matt123071 (talk) 16:35, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Not done: Hello. I'm assuming this edit request is to reinstate content per this message, or at least to reinstate the sources listed. The #1 Startups News and #2 Forbes source is already in the article. Crunchbase (#3-5) is a deprecated source (listed as red at WP:RSP), and thus it cannot be used in an article. The #8 "Literature Compass" link is an article written by the subject. If the subject were a scholar or author, a "selected works" section would fit, but there is no reason to list this article by the subject in a "prizes" section. Similarly, the #9 Burchard Scholars link lists a scholarship the subject received; this scholarship doesn't appear to be an award of the type we would list in a biography. The #2 "MIT Sloan School of Management" source was not actually at Sloan's website, nor was the #3 Stanford source at Stanford's website; they do not appear to be genuine. (Which doesn't mean the subject didn't attend those schools, just that those particular sources aren't WP:RS.) Lev¡vich 16:53, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Request for Reduced Protection to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahni_Ghorashi
Dear Editors, I have been in contact with the most recent editors on this page. Looks like there have been a lot of third-parties posting erroneous info to this page damaging the integrity of the original posting. I'm looking to clean up and restore the original integrity of the page with quality citations and reduced, verifiable content while capturing the full (unbiased and unpromotional biograpy of the individual). The current entry has been fragemented tremendously and is not an accurate representation of his background. I'm currently requesting post communication with the most recent editor to downgrade the current protection level to the ability to edit with oversight and ability to cite reliable sources for renewed publication. Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saeedetihad (talk • contribs) 19:07, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I recently went through and tried to clean up this article for notability. The subject is a fairly big name in Silicon Valley, has been a guest speaker along with Steve Blank (see wikipedia entry) and Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen (see wikipedia entry).
I noticed the article was originally written a bit badly, and then it looks like there were several attempts to discredit it or add false links (?). Anyways, I took an honest stab at trying to clean things up, add 3rd-party notability sources, and do the subject justice based on his work as a serial entrepreneur in Silicon Valley and nationwide.
I wanted to open up the talk to discuss to see if it is ok or if further edits need to be made to remove the notability flag on this wiki entry.
Many thanks,
Matt — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattjohnson1 (talk • contribs) 16:31, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The article presents only citations from specialized websites, mainly summary profiles or passing mentions, no in-depth features, and no references from mainstream publications. A Google search for articles with his name in the title, intitle:"Mahni+Ghorashi" -Wikipedia, returns very few results, none of them from mainstream media. This suggests that notability concerns are justified. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:23, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
