Shouldn't his name be Ray Rice? I've never heard him called Raymell and nearly every page linking to this article links to Ray Rice. --Thomas.macmillan (talk) 18:48, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Recent edits make it sound like he's retired or out of the league. He was cut from a team and is currently suspended, but his career is not over. He's 27 and an elite running back- he'll most likely sign with another team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.168.89.20 (talk) 19:51, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
He averaged 3.1 ypc last year...hardly "elite" anymore. By most accounts, he's probably done in the NFL[1]Paleolithicus (talk) 19:12, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Rice was never signed by the Jags. They're too stupid to do that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:30B:826B:5E29:A4EA:7F6C:C0AB:3B06 (talk) 22:19, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
He is not a member of the Cleveland Browns (as of 2015-08-12). He is currently unsigned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenreighard (talk • contribs) 14:21, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps a section about his charitable work could be added? He was known for this before and after his career was over. [2] [3]Vikramsrinath (talk) 04:39, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

The video does NOT show rice "punching" Palmer. The video is not clear and it is not discernible whether he is trying to push her away or hitting her. The video does not show any actual contact between Ray's hand and his fiance.

Now that the initial rush is over, let's do a better job of writing an encyclopedia article. I suggest rewriting the lead section as follows.
This version more closely follows the development of events as reported by the sources. It keeps the career in the first paragraph and the controversy in the second paragraph, which follows the style established by other WP articles about other athletes who have become embroiled in major scandals. Let's discuss this and then, if we have consensus, make the edit. Dave77501 (talk) 13:47, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

There's been some edit-warring about whether to refer to Rice as a free agent or as indefinitely suspended in the lede and in the infobox. Is there a chance a consensus can be reached here? Are "free agent" and "indefinitely suspended" mutually exclusive - could both be listed? What do reliable sources say? Cheers, Dawn Bard (talk) 18:38, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
One paragraph starts off saying that both the man and his fiancee were arrested. But there is no more mention of the woman's being arrested. Why is that? Were charges against her dropped? Is the statement that she was arrested incorrect? Is what later transpired in terms of her arrest considered by Wikipedia as unimportant?211.225.33.104 (talk) 01:01, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Done added today without any source whatsoever - Arjayay (talk) 14:43, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
So since there has been long term edit warring (over time) regarding the NFL year that should appear in the infobox, I ask that we come to an agreement. 2013 was the last season he played active, as he didn't play at all during the 2014 season, unless you count the preseason. So what I'm asking is when do we consider the NFL season to "start"? (legally, it starts the day of free agency, but that wouldn't work here). Do we just consider who's on the roster week 1 of the regular season, or any time of the preseason? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 02:41, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Has Ray ever been concussed? This massage guy brought it up claiming concussion trauma could lead to lack of force control (ie self defense parry becoming knockout punch) but I don't know if any actual MDs ever diagnosed Ray with anything like that. 64.228.91.102 (talk) 13:16, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
So user Rutgersfan1 (talk · contribs) continues to remove the year in the infobox image caption, simply because he doesn't like it. It has always been consensus to add the year (when known) to avoid any disambiguity. He has been warned by other editors, including myself, but refuses to comment on it. (Besides his badly written attempts on his talk page)
Does anybody object to having the year mentioned or not? Other NFL player articles have always had it written that way, which is why I keep reverting the edits, when normally I wouldn't be bothered over something so trivial. The rest of the article has pictures of Rice with the year included, but he doesn't seem to remove them for some reason. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:53, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

I added a charitable works section, partially formatted around the one on Ben Roethlisberger's Wikipedia page.[1] Three sources were used to substantiate the claims made. Vikramsrinath (talk) 06:58, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
