Placement[edit]

I think this is a great cleanup category, but am wondering if it's necessary to be adding it to Stubs? Stubs and Starts are assessed that way because they are missing lots of content, etc. Seems redundant? Cleanup tags are generally not added to articles until they reach B level. --plange 00:41, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Overly short stubs in general often don't warrant additional cleanup templates at the top of the article; they're short enough that specific issues requiring cleanup can usually be tagged inline, and in this case the fact that it's a stub itself sort of indicates that there is certain information missing. That said, it may depend on the length of the stub; an article can have certain relevant non-biographical information already included, but still be missing biographical information. I think that this template should be placed on the talk page. It is an editorial template and editorial comments are what the talk pages are designed for. The template adds nothing to the article which the reader of an article needs to know. --Philip Baird Shearer 12:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category[edit]

Why does this template add articles to Category:Biographies without real biographical information. That implies that the articles it is used on have false biographical information, in which case many should be tagged for immediate review per WP:BLP. Brad (talk) 22:48, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

True. It should be renamed to Category:Biographies with insufficient biographical information maybe. -- OlEnglish (Talk) 09:23, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For others' reference, the category was indeed renamed from the former title of Category:Biographies without real biographical information to the current title of Category:Biographies with insufficient biographical information following this 2011 discussion.
