Terrell State Hospital is a public psychiatric hospital located in Terrell, Texas, United States. Opened in 1885, it was originally known as the North Texas Lunatic Asylum.[1] The original hospital building was built according to the Kirkbride Plan.[2]
Colquitt, who formerly served on the board of managers for the Terrell State Insane Asylum, did, however, express a great deal of empathy for prisoners and other wards of the state.
