Therme Group is a spa and wellbeing company with active wellbeing resorts in Germany[1] and Romania[2], as well as future projects announced for Europe[3] and Canada[4]. The resorts provide a series of accessible thermal bathing spaces based on indoor biosystems.

Therme Group is independently owned and works in partnership with Wund Holding (Wund Holding GmbH, Friedrichshafen) to deliver architectural projects through Therme ARC GmbH, Therme Group’s dedicated architecture company.[5]

History

Therme Group was founded by Robert Hanea in 2011.

In 2016, Therme Group opened the world’s first LEED-Platinum certified wellbeing resort in Bucharest, Romania[6]. It covers 44,000 square metres and has 6 saunas.

In 2020, Therme Manchester received planning permission approval[7]. The site will be 28 acres in size and is being developed in partnership with Peel L&P[8].

In 2021, Therme Group announced plans for Therme Canada, a resort in Ontario Place[9], and a new resort located in Bad Vilbel, Frankfurt[10].  

In 2022, Therme Group announced plans for a wellbeing resort in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, in South Korea[11].

Community

The company sponsors community events, including the UK’s Manchester Marathon 2022[12].

It partnered with the Toronto International Film Festival 2022[13] and supports the BlackNorth Initiative in Canada.  

Therme Art, the cultural branch of Therme Group, sponsors cultural projects in locations across Europe[14].
