Tincture of cannabis or Green Dragon is an an alcohol based tincture made from Cannabis. Glycerin infusions are sometimes referred to as a tincture although a true tincure is alcohol based.

Preparation

Tincture made from soaking the flowers, leaves, or stems of the Cannabis plant in a high-proof alcohol. The THC and other Cannabinoids dissolve into the alcohol. Some preparations also extract some of the water-based plant products such as chlorophyll, resulting in a dark green or brown liquid. Baking or "drying" the cannabis to decarboxylate prior to to the alcohol bath increases the potency of the THC in the resulting preparation.[1][2]

Methods of use

Nabiximols (USAN,[3] trade name Sativex) is a parmaceutical preparation for administraion as an oral spray.

Vaporizing

The substance may also be heated and inhaled.

Topical

The tincture may be applied to the skin.

Gimmicks

Products like Rushkinoff Cannabis (50% alcohol) and Iganoff Cannabis (40% alcohol) use the word Cannabis to gain customers. However, there are no evidence that they actually contain Cannabis.
