HYE ENERGY

Shant "Hye Energy" Djurkan is an American-Armenian rapper based in the DMV. His first song Fake released in January, hitting 500 views on YouTube. Hye Energy may be confused with "Lil Energy," his old rapper name. His next song is set to be released in the Summer of 2018.


Early Life

Shant's birth date and place is unknown. His age is around 18-19 years old. Djurkan served in the Syrian war at around age 12-13. Rumor is said that him and his squad of six others survived a building toppling on top of them with no casualties or injuries. Shant grew to love music, including dubstep, rap, and EDM. Shant spent most of his time growing up in Maryland.


Rise to Fame

Shant became popular around age 16-17. Most importantly from a Brazilian shirt he never washed for a whole year. He has a group of Armenian friends "ArmoSquad" who follow him closely. In mid 2017, Shant proposed an idea of a game design company, which was left unnamed. This project was scrapped due to lack of support and miscommunication. In late 2017, Shant announced the start of his rapping career, and began was set to release his song in December 2017. He gathered support from many students of his school, and brought together a producer, Shant M, and a manager, Kevin Chris. Shant pushed back the date of the release of his song to January. Shant also participated and won in a rap battle.


Feedback and Criticism

Although Energy's song "Fake" was a massive success, there was many criticism towards the song. Some were towards his producer, but most were towards Shant. Although this was a huge knockback, Hye Energy continued his career, and announced his next song to release March of 2018.


Downhill Turns

Shant went dark in late February. After a famous scandal and rumor that Shant paid someone to make a hate account on Instagram about himself, Shant received hard criticism. After March passed, and his song still wasn't released, he pushed the date back to May, due to complications with his producer. In early May, Shant officialy changed his rapper name from "Lil Energy" to "Hye Energy." Shant has also endorsed a candidate for SGA President.
