Alzheimer's disease and the eyes

[edit]

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by a marked atrophy of an individual’s daily functionality. The disease’s progressive neurodegeneration modulates the senile regression of the patient’s cognition and capability. AD is the most common cause of cognitive impairment in those older than sixty years, accounting for between 60–70% of all dementia.[1] It is the costliest disease in the United States at over 1 trillion per year.[2]
