February 2022[edit]

May I please remind you that WP:V is one of our fundamental policies and can not be compromised on. If you continue adding unsourced information, and especially unsourced unverifiable information concerning the war engagements, a highly sensitive topic, I will have to report you and likely get your account blocked. If you re-add these information with sources, please make sure that the sources are reliable and independent, per WP:RS. Thank you for understanding.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:31, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand it.. but right now is difficult to find realiable sources in English language about the situation. But, please, you can be sure that everything I add (Russian control, or partial Ukrainian/Russian control) came from the latest information that I'm getting from different sources. I do it so that people can have the most current information possible. But it is my intention to look for reliable sources that support it and add it later. CarlosYif (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If this information is not in reliable sources, it must not be in the articles.--Ymblanter (talk) 22:19, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean is that sometimes I can know if a city is under partial Russian control by watching a video on Twitter of a town square or something similar. CarlosYif (talk) 00:46, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We have policies exactly to prevent this kind of information to appear in Wikipedia. Videos can be fake, and your interpretation can be wrong.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:42, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your concerns, but if it is a friend of mine who send me a video from a Ukrainian town recorded minutes ago, then it is an example where I am sure of the situation of partial Russian control, but there are no reliable sources are available yet. Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#CarlosYif and WP:V--Ymblanter (talk) 17:04, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need for the administrators to decide. I stop my contributions. Greetings CarlosYif (talk) 17:08, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
