The Silent Partner links to Self-locking device, so why not the Gibbs, which generically also features there? Martinevans123 (talk) 02:06, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, would you kindly tell me why you're wasting so much bandwidth removing all the Contemporary music templates from articles they are quite appropriate to (without any explanation as to why you're doing this in your edit summaries)? Thanks and best regards, Badagnani (talk) 07:43, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi Maelgwn. I notice you made an entry in 2004 on the Internet Infidels Wiki page, the second entry ever made to the site. Could you please review (or join in the) Internet Infidels discussion page. Note the section on the discussion page, "Source of the current claim that Secular Web is one of main web sites for skeptics on the internet." I would welcome your input on this. Thanks, Patrick Harrigan (talk) 07:51, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi - just a note re some of your edits in the past weeks - while I personally do often unforce images as well, as per WP:MOS, there are instances when I feel forcing images is acceptable for style reasons alone - this is mainly the case when an image is directly under an infobox, where the whole article looks much cleaner if the image is then forced to that width. A bit of an in-between-will-never-get-full-consensus-because-its-a-matter-of-taste kind of thing, but just wanted to let you know about that viewpoint. Hi Maelgwn - we're planning a third meetup in Adelaide sometime in the coming weeks, and would love to have you there. If you can, please help decide a location, a date and a time here. Thanks! ~ Riana ⁂ 12:13, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi, your bot happens to transclude Australia-related MfDs as opposed to providing a link to them on Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board/AfD. Is this accidental, or is it meant to happen? ;) I think it is better if just a link is provided, as transcluding the whole MfD is probably not a good idea due to the size of the page it exists on. Cheers, Spebi 07:37, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that Maelgwnbot subst:ed an ((IPsockCheckuser)) tag. Are you sure this tag is supposed to be substituted? It is not in Category:User warning templates which would be a criteria for substitution. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 12:11, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello. You may remember, some time ago, joining the BAG under the trial "open membership" system. Based on a lack of opposition to a reversion of this trial, I have now decided to be bold and perform it. The BAG has returned to a system under which users must go through a short period of discussion (like RfA, but less formal) before being added to the group by either a 'crat or an existing member. At the moment, I have said that discussions should last for 10 days and that community noticeboards should be spammed to encourage participation in each request - evidently this is to avoid the "cabal" impression.
As you have already been a member for some time, you're likely to be an excellent candidate to apply to the group and I encourage you to do so. Alternatively, if you totally disagree with my changes and fail to see any merit in them at all, I'm hoping to take part in discussions on WT:BAG. Though I must ask now if I may - please don't revert me without a decent amount of discussion first. Thanks, and if you have any questions about what I've done, please leave me a message, send an email or chat on IRC. Martinp23 17:29, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

G'day, just to let you know that I moved Charlie Perry → Charlie Perry (Australian rules footballer) for disambiguation purposes (I recently created Charlie Perry (English footballer)). Thought I'd let you know, in case you wanted to update your subpage article list. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 22:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi there Maelgwn! As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation has recently approved Wikimedia Australia as an official chapter. In order to acknowledge this, and to appoint an interim committee, approve our statement of purpose and our rules, and appoint a Public Officer, Wikimedia Australia will be having a meeting at Computerbank in Melbourne. For those of us who are located in other cities, we shall be holding conference calls to the main meeting. The meeting will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, 20th April 2008, Adelaide time. In order for us to organise this meeting, we need your help! Please drop by at our meta subpage with suggestions as to venues, conference calling services, etc. It will be at 2:30 so we can meet up for lunch beforehand if anyone's open for that! Hoping to see you there! ~ Riana ⁂ 01:53, 20 March 2008 (UTC) You are receiving this message because you are an active Wikimedian in Adelaide and are on this list. Hello. A non-urgent minor flaw in Maelgwnbot's logic has become apparent. It's not vitally important, nor urgent, but perhaps the bot could check for matching (( and )) pairs inside templates? Speaking as a former bot-owner, keep up the good work! Best wishes, RobertG ♬ talk 15:32, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Mmm, I think there's a hiccup somewhere: your bot subst'ed ((checkuserblock)) on User talk:76.211.143.37, but the output is now broken. I guess the table formatting breaks the templates. Can you have a look? (Personally, I don't think it's such a good idea to subst the templates that are used in unblock requests, the user sees the current output that way, and it prevents messing up the outer templates ;)) -- lucasbfr talk 09:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

This edit by the bot was erroneous. There was a message on the page talking about a past proposed deletion, but the bot converted the references to ((prod)) to make it look like the user talk page itself was up for proposed deletion. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for fulfilling a bot request working on cleaning up the publicity images with rationales. It made my job a little easier as it correctly categorized 1/4th of the images I will be going through manually. :-) Cheers, -- Guroadrunner (talk) 08:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
I noticed amongst the various articles on my watchlist that you have tagged for WP:SHIPS (thanks!), that there were a few previously tagged articles where you changed the project banner template call from ((WPSHIPS)) to ((WikiProject Ships)), but made no other changes. Unless the redirect at Template:WPSHIPS going away (I hope note), please avoid making unnecessary changes like this in the future. — Bellhalla (talk) 10:59, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
Your monobook needs to be updated to avoid an error. The convert template code has changed and it will no longer accept 'sq' or 'cu' with metric units. Thus '|sqkm|' will have to be changed to '|km2|'. All existing pages have been updated. Any new use of the template with '|sqkm|' will produce an error on the page. The code for non-metric units is unchanged and can be either '|sqft|' or '|ft2|' format.
For example:
should be changed to
If you want more advice, please ask at Template talk:Convert. Or ask me, I would be glad to help you update your monobook code. Regards Lightmouse (talk) 09:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

What do you think about the recreation of this article? There is a lot of material, but no independent sources. Some sentences are direct copies of the web site for the park, but an attempt has been made to avoid that. It has no real incoming links. I welcome your views, but I guess you are still up in the snow. --Bduke (talk) 23:36, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
