Not Wikipedia Administrator[edit]

Not Wikipedia Administrator (talk · contribs) - Since 2004 I've been trying my best to make Wikipedia better. At the time, I was an anonymous user and read about an incident where some guy got banned because his username was Wikipedia Administrator. Rather poor choice of nickname, but it amused me, and I thought, well, that fellow had a username that lied; that was wrong. But what if I myself had a similar nickname-- but one that was actually accurate? Well, and so here I am. I've been contributing to Wikipedia for three years under the moniker "Not Wikipedia Administrator" and indeed I'm Not a Wikipedia Administrator. Now I'd like to change that. I think I'm ready to start deleting pages, so I'd like to become an admin. It'll help me help Wikipedia. Anyway, if you, my friends, agree to help me become an administrator, I promise to submit a request for username change, to "Wikipedia Administrator." For after all, it would be quite a gross violation of logic to have a Wikipedia Administrator called Not Wikipedia Administrator. Think of the confusion! Vandals might get blocked and see that they were blocked by "Not Wikipedia Administrator." Consequently they'd be mighty confused. They'd wonder "I was banned by an administrator? But the administrator is not an administrator? What manner of strange magic is this? This one who banned me must be neither man nor beast but some strange monstrous combination thereof! I shall never vandalize again, for I am now in fear of both flesh and soul." So that should help us out a bit! Thanks for your support in advance. PS: Could someone tell me in advance, about how much discretion do you think a bureaucrat has in the case of a 50% oppose/50% support RfA? Just wondering.... Questions for the candidate[edit]

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
A: I mostly hope to delete pages and block vandals. I think that I will strike fear into the hearts of vandals, so that will be my main vocation. Deleting will be more of an avocation-- recreation of sorts to rest from vandal banning. I expect that most of my deletions will be legitimate ones determined through the normal process of speedy, VfD, etc.
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
A: My user page is really good because it is very descriptive, yet it is concise.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: No, nobody has ever had any conflict with me. I am really good at keeping my cool and all that.

Discussion[edit]

Support

  1. Strong Support — People are bitching at me for opposing self-noms, so I give up. You win. I wholeheartedly support this guy for adminship. Kurt Weber 04:41, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support NWA seems like someone who can handle being an admin, though he's been a bit inactive. The irony of the name will surely confuse vandals. Rarr 05:10, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose

  1. Oppose Not experienced enough (less than 50 edits); not active enough (last edit before this RFA was 2.5 years ago.--Chaser - T 04:45, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral

  1. Neutral until I can review the user more thoroughly. I'd just like to note that should you pass, you should keep your name the way it is. The vandals literally will not know what hit them. --Hemlock Martinis 04:42, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
