I've been avoiding jumping in here, but "two weeks ago" is after there were already 3 votes for a one year ban, and the imposter account HighwayCeIIo was created after the one year ban was proposed by Fred. - I'm not familiar with the details of this case, but I have to say that the time to "plead guilty and make restitution in the hopes of a lighter sentence" would be, ideally as Thatcher says, before the case began, but at any rate, certainly before it's essentially run its course. (I believe there were 6 or 8 remedies passing 6-0, and two votes to close, at the time of said intervention from Minun. That's more than a little last-gasp.) I'm also somewhat concerned by comments like this. If what he "knows to do" is appeal to the arbcom and/or cease editing during the ban, fair enough, but otherwise...
