The Bordes family is a French family, which comes from Armagnac, in Gascony, and has established in Chile, Bordeaux and Paris.
History
Antoine Dominique Bordes, born on July 21, 1815 [1] in Gimbrède, son of Barthélémy, physician and deputy mayor, and Louise Thérèse Geneviève Bordes, married Victoire Möser on July 19, 1857 in Besançon.[2] From this marriage came three generations of shipowners who have continued the company he founded, with the motto Union et Persévérance [3] . Henri Bordes, his nephew, also ran a Bordeaux steamship company, and his son Antoine was director of the Compagnie Générale Maritime.[4]
Barthélémy Bordes (1766-1840) came from an old and notable family from Agenais, including royal officers since the 18th century.[5]
