8Radio.com is an Irish radio station, started in 2013 by Phantom FM founder Simon Maher.[2][3] It is mostly an online music station, but has sometimes received a temporary licence from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) for FM broadcasts in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.[4][5][6]

Some of the station's presenters have had previous involvement with Phantom FM, including Steve Conway, Pearl, Amber, Brian Daly and Neil Murray.[citation needed] Others, such as Sinead Ni Chonaill and Angela Hughes, have had involvement in community stations such as Dublin City FM and Raidió Na Life.[citation needed] Maher also presents his own programmes.[citation needed]

Simon Maher has described the station as finding "a niche among music lovers and those who may not currently consume much, if any, traditional FM radio".[7]
