Career

In 1950, Moward was concerned about the quality of Indonesian film.[1] He and his university friends, Del Juzar and Awaloedin Djamin, later made their film debut by starring in Darah dan Doa (1950), which was directed by Usmar Ismail.[1] He later starred in several films, such as Krisis (1953), and received a critical response for his independent role in the early 1950s.[1] Moward later took a hiatus from acting to become a customs employee; he returned to the film industry in the early 1960s.[1]

In 1974, he starred in Bulan Diatas Kuburan, which won him a Citra Award for Best Supporting Actor in the 1975 Indonesian Film Festival in Medan.[1] He later starred in other films, such as Rahasia Perawan (1975), Inem Pelayan Sexy (1976), Skandal (1978), Diujung Malam (1979).[1] His last film role was in Rojali dan Zuleha (1979), which earned him a critical response, along with his roles in several other films, which were Krisis, Tauhid (1964), Mama (1972), Atheis (1974), and the Inem Pelayan Sexy series.[3] In 1980, Moward was cast in production of Bidadari dari Surga, but he died before the film was finished.[2]
