Arnold Rodrigues is a former footballer who played as a midfielder for Salgaocar and the India football team.[2] Born in Tanzania, he represented India internationally, after making his debut in 1977.
Rodrigues was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to Goan parents, before being sent to a boarding school Monte de Guirim School in Bardez, Goa, India.[1] His family hailed from Orlim, Salcete, Goa.[3]
Rodrigues played for the club Salgaocar[3] and the Goa football team at the Santosh Trophy.[4]
In 1989, Rodrigues signed with Croydon of Isthmian Football League.[5] He also appeared with English Non-League football outfit Simba, a team having Goan players.[5]
Rodrigues was known for his speed and dribbling ability.[6]
Rodrigues is married, has lived in London, England, is a British citizen, and is a supporter of English Premier League side Liverpool.[5]
