Bahad (lit. 'Threat') is a 2019 Filipino historical action film edited, composed, written and directed by Bryan Wong, who also stars in the lead role. It tells the story of the conflict between the Civilian Home Defense Forces (CHDF) and rebels in the rural areas of Sarangani. Produced by Bladsmel Films Production, the film was first released on December 4, 2019, as part of the 17th Mindanao Film Festival, where it was given a special citation award for being produced in the action genre.[2]
Bryan Wong, a martial artist[4] and composer,[5][6] shot the film on a ₱70,000 budget.[7]
As part of the 17th Mindanao Film Festival, Bahad was first screened at the Cinematheque Centre Davao on December 4, 2019,[8] and later at Cinema 6[9] of the Gaisano Mall of Davao in Davao City.[1][2] The sole award that the film received from the festival was a special citation for telling a story under the action genre.[2]
The film has been made available on the Philippine streaming service RAD from Blackbox Studios.[10]
