Treaties explicitly extended by France to the Collectivity of Saint Martin Collectivity of Saint Martin (2007–). Prior to 2007, Saint Martin was a dependency of Guadeloupe. (Note that France's treaty practice as to its dependent territories has been inconsistent over time, and that France may consider some treaties that it has ratified to be applicable to the Collectivity of Saint Martin despite the fact that it has not explicitly declared it to be so.) Prior to 2007, treaties extended to Guadeloupe were extended to the territory that is now the Collectivity of Saint Martin.
