Creepy Nuts is a Japanese hip-hop duo consisting of R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga, who made their major label debut in 2017.[1]
On January 7, 2024, their digital single "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" was released. Originally written as the opening theme song for the second season of the TV anime Mashle: Magic and Muscles, the song debuted at #1 on Apple Music and Spotify's domestic streaming charts upon its release. It was also a worldwide hit, reaching #1 on the iTunes hip-hop charts in more than 10 countries, including Indonesia, Taiwan, Laos, Mexico, Chile and Ukraine, and its total global streaming views exceeded 30 million in just two weeks after its release.[2] The song managed to rank internationally peaking at 173 in French singles charts.[3]
The duo, who performed the opening and ending theme for the 2022's animated series Call of the Night, had a cameo performance in the anime's sixth episode.[4]
Several songs have been certified by Recording Industry Association of Japan in the streaming category, with "Nobishiro" certified platinum.[5]
