Daddy Daddy is a 1998 Indian Telugu-language comedy film, Produced by Ramoji Rao under the Usha Kiran Movies banner and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jayasudha, Harish, Raasi and music composed by Vandemataram Srinivas. The film is Akkineni Nageswara Rao's 250th movie. It is a remake of the Tamil film Once More (1997).[1] The film was a box office success.[2]
The film begins with Prasad (Harish), a man born into a life of privilege, whose father is always abroad and whose only companion is his cousin Anji (Ali). Prasad oversees his father's business, but, fed up with the high-profile lifestyle and busy schedules, wants to live a normal life. He loves a charming girl, Subhadra (Raasi), but she misjudges him as a materialist and refuses him. Meanwhile, the crafty Apco/Appala Konda (Sivaji Rao) plots to marry Subhadra, and widens the gap between the two.
Prasad's father dies in a flight crash and the entire business is about to go bankrupt. Just before that, Prasad learns that his father has secured a huge amount of money in a bank, but to acquire it his father's signature is compulsory. Prasad and Anji plan to have somebdy pose as the father and pick it up.
Anand Rao (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), a multi-millionaire, arrives in the city, and for fun he disguises himself as a fruit seller. Prasad meets him and express his plight. Anand Rao also learns that Prasad has been bankrupted due to the deception of his office staff. Rao agrees to act as his father out of sympathy. He cleverly brings Prasad out of his troubles and even resolves his love affair with Subhadra.
Anand Rao eventually admits the truth when Prasad asks him to be his father forever, and emotionally embraces him. At this point, Sarada (Jayasudha), the wife of Anand Rao who left him years ago because of misunderstandings, unexpectedly returns. Aware of their past, Prasad and Subhadra decide to unite them, but unfortunately clashes arise between the two as they support their counterparts. Exploiting the situation, Apco aggravates the rift and continues scheming to marry Subhadra. Anand Rao intervenes, and the story ends on a happy note with the marriage of Prasad and Subhadra.
