"Disco Samba" is a 1977 single by the Belgian band Two Man Sound.

Background

The track is a medley of songs by Brazilian artists like Jorge Ben, Edu Lobo, Jackson do Pandeiro and Benito di Paula.[2]

Its style can be derived from the song's title: a mixture of samba songs in a disco tempo.[3][4]

Success

The song became the most successful of the band, selling millions of copies worldwide despite the lack of international chart success.[5]

It has been re-released a few times, and to this day, it still has regular airplay in Mexico and different South-American and South-European countries, mainly on specific events like carnival and New Year's Eve.[6]

Legacy

Next to the million seller "Ça Plane pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand, it contributed to the fame of singer/composer Lou Deprijck, making him the 4th best selling Belgian artist of all time worldwide.[7]
