Claudia Post (born May 17, 1947) is an American businesswoman. She is known for her work in starting companies in the transportation[1] and cannabis industries.[2]
Post is the CEO of the cannabis marketing and consulting agency MOST Consulting,[3] as well as the cannabis supply chain management company Scarlet Express.[3] Both businesses are based out of Philadelphia.[3]
Post has also held important roles in business associations including the Director of the Messenger Courier Association of the Americas[4] and President of the Mail Systems Management Association.[4]
Post has also been involved in advocacy efforts for medical cannabis patients in Pennsylvania.[5]
Post was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Temple University.
In 1990, Post founded the Diamond Transportation Group in Pennsylvania.[1]
The company was originally named Diamond Courier Service and offered bicycle messenger services in Philadelphia.[1] In 1993, Post expanded her business offerings to include package and freight shipping.[1]
Rebranded as Diamond Transportation Group, the company experienced exceptional growth in its earliest years.[4] The business eventually shifted its focus entirely toward shipping.[4]
At its peak, Diamond Transportation Group had twelve warehouses throughout the eastern United States and employed hundreds of people.[3] Post also gained recognition for being a female entrepreneur in an industry run mostly by men.[1]
Post was recognized for her accomplishments as the 1994 Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration[1], as well as the 2001 Mercury Award from Joffe's Magazine.[4]
In 2010, Post founded the cannabis marketing agency Smokin' Hot Solutions.[5] She took an interest in the cannabis industry after her son advised her to do so.[2]
Since the medical cannabis industry didn't start in Pennsylvania until 2018,[6] Smokin' Hot Solutions saw many changes in the marketplace.[2]
During her years with Smokin' Hot Solutions, Post also helped educate medical patients in Pennsylvania on how to get medical marijuana cards.[5]
In 2020, Post rebranded Smokin' Hot Solutions as MOST Consulting. The rebranding of Post's company happened around the same time that medical cannabis was legalized in Pennsylvania.[6] MOST Consulting shifted its focus to offer more advertising, design, and strategy services for a changing cannabis industry that was starting to resemble the traditional business world.[7]
Having been involved in the cannabis industry for a decade, Post became a recognized female business leader in the market.[7]
In 2021, Post combined her experience in logistics, business, and supply chain to start the cannabis delivery service Scarlet Express.[3]
Scarlet Express is a third-party service that allows cannabis consumers to order products from dispensaries and have them delivered directly to their homes.[7] Scarlet Express helps retail dispensaries that don't have delivery services expand with this offering.[8]
In 2023, Scarlet Express partnered with wholesale cannabis platform Leaflink to offer cannabis delivery services in New Jersey.[9]
