Dear Edgar is a 1964 Australian television play filmed in Brisbane for BTQ. [1]

The play was a rare television drama filmed in Brisbane at the time. It may be the sole drama made by Brisbane commercial stations in the 1960s, although the ABC produced several including Vacancy in Vaughan Street and Ring Out Wild Bells.[2][3] There had been an earlier drama on a commercial station, Crisis but this aired during the day while Dear Edgar was shown in primetime.[4]

Premise

A Brisbane newspaper editor moonlights as an anonymous lonely-hearts columnist. His wife starts writing to the columnist.[1]
