Joshua To is a design executive known for his work in the technology industry, particularly in the areas of augmented reality (AR), wearables, and collaboration tools. He currently serves as the Vice President of Design at Meta.[1][2][3]Joshua To is based in Burlingame, California.[3]
He was recognized as one of the top 15 students in America by Newsweek in 2005 [4]and earned honors from the AIGA in 2009. To pursued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied Media Arts and Communication Studies. He later attended the Walter A. Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, focusing on Negotiations and Operations Management. Additionally, he studied at the Wharton School of Business with a concentration in Marketing.[5]
Before joining Meta in 2021, Joshua To held positions at Google[6][7]. He was listed as part of the GOOD 100 by GOOD Magazine in 2013 and joined the advisory board of Design Ignites Change.[2]
He was also involved in founding and managing nonprofit organizations, including WellDone International and Soup.[8]
He was involved with initiatives such as WellDone, a project aimed at providing clean water solutions in Ghana. He co-founded Brute Labs[6], an organization dedicated to tackling various societal challenges through innovation and peer networks.[9]
In the 2005 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, he received an honorable mention for Environmental Graphics.[10]
