Paul and Kris scharoun-deforge were the longest married couple with Down syndrome[2][3], they were married from 1993 to 2019[4], the couple met in 1988 at a dance for the disabled[5][6],they dated until 1994. Due to their intellectual challenges, they had to prove to New York their sexual knowledge[7][8] in order to be able to wed.
Paul Deforge was born in 1963[9] he died on March 28 2019 from dementia[10][11][12][13], when he was born, his parents were told to put him in a nursing home, a common practice for people with Down Syndrome[7], his parents refused. Kris was born
