Science Information NETwork (SINET) is a National Research and Education Network (NREN) for Japan. SINET is operated by the National Institute of Informatics as a scientific information infrastructure for universities and research institutions in Japan.
The current iteration of the network is SINET6, that has been in operation since April 22. SINET is interconnected with many other research networks, including Internet2 in the U.S. and GÉANT in Europe.[1]
