In the article on Andy Sundberg (Andrew Peter Sundberg) it mentions that because his father was in the Air Force during the Korean War, he went to Junior High School in "Tajikawa." That spelling should be corrected to "Tachikawa" a well-known airbase in Western Tokyo under the control of US forces from Sept 5, 1945 to Nov 30, 1977. See the Wickipedia article on "Tachikawa Airfield."

The name "Tajikawa"is rare in Japanese. An internet search will bring up two artists and a professor. It is even rarer as a toponym: one Expressway Service Area in Kochi (on the island of Shikoku, in western Japan) is written with the same characters as Tachikawa (立川) but has the pronunciation "Tajikawa." I know of no US military presence there.
