Estonia will debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Nice, France. Estonian broadcaster ERR will be responsible for the country's participation, and had selected Arhanna to represent the country with the song "Hoiame Kokku".[1]

Background

Estonia has never participated in Junior Eurovision before. In previous years ERR cited financial reasons for Estonia's absence from participation in the junior contest.[2]. ERR had previously broadcast the contest in 2003 and 2004.[3][4]

Before Junior Eurovision

On 29 August, ERR announced that Estonia will participate in Junior Eurovision for the first time and will be represented by 11-year old Arhanna Sandra Arbma.[5][6], who had won the 2022 edition of the talent show, "Tähtede Lava"[7]. On the same day, the songwriters were introduced. Karl-Ander Reismann will compose the music and Leelo Tungal will write the lyrics for the Estonian entry.[3] Reismann has been responsible for many Eesti Laul songs including "Hope" by Stefan in 2022.

The song, titled 'Hoiame Kokku', was released on 16 October, together with the official music video.[8]
