Everlasting is the eleventh studio album by American singer Natalie Cole, released on June 14, 1987 by Manhattan Records. The album peak to number 8 on Billboards Top R&B Albums chart, and number 42 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), her first album to be certified since 1979's We're the Best of Friends with Peabo Bryson. Everlasting earned a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1988 Grammy Awards.[2]
The duo The Calloways contributed to the tracks "Jump Start", a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac", and "I Live for Your Love". Also included are the Bacharach and David songs "In My Reality" and "Split Decision". A cover of "When I Fall in Love", and "More Than the Stars" features José Feliciano on vocals and guitar.
Released in June 1987, Everlasting peaked to the No. 8 on US Top R&B Albums, No. 42 on the Billboard 200 and No. 9 on New Zealand Albums chart. The lead single "Jump Start" hit No. 2 on US R&B Songs chart and a top 20 hit at No. 13 on US Hot 100. The album's second single "I Live for Your Love" hit top 5 on US R&B Songs at No. 4 and No. 2 on US Adult Contemporary chart.
"Pink Cadillac" was released as the third single and achieve successful popularity, it hit the top 5 on the US Hot 100, top 10 on US R&B Songs and No. 1 on US Dance Songs. The song hit top 5 in the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany and top 10 in Denmark, Finland and Australia.[3][4] The final single "When I Fall In Love" hit the top 20 on US Adult Contemporary Songs.
