Deutsch: Die grüne Grundfarbe steht für die Landschaft und die landwirtschaftliche Struktur des Ortes. Der goldene Berg ist einmal Symbol für den Ortsnamen Gelenberg, zum anderen für die in der Gemarkung vorhandenen Hügelgräber. Die Urne im Hügel weist auf die Funde in den Gräbern: Urnen, Pfeilspitzen, Münzen hin. Die goldene Hirtenschaufel im oberen Wappenteil ist das Attribut des Patrons des Ortes und die Kapelle, des Hl. Wendelinus, der vor allem bei Krankheiten des Viehs angerufen wird und damit nochmals auch auf die Landwirtschaft als jahrhundertelange Lebensgrundlage für die Bewohner der Gemeinde hinweist.
