Object history
Deutsch: Eine Gemeinde St. Peter gab es vor Aufhebung des Klosters 1806 nicht. Die Höfe und Hofgruppen der klösterlichen Grundherrschaft waren in Vogteien organisiert, von denen ein Teil 1813 zur Gemeinde St. Peter zusammengefasst wurde. Die Farbstempel der Gemeinde zeigen im 19. Jahrhundert auf einem Boden eine Tanne, links neben deren Stamm die Initialen SP, rechts die schräggekreuzten Petersschlüssel. Die Vogteien hatten bereits zu Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts Siegel geführt, die alle die Initialen des Klosternamens, die Schlüssel des Klosterwappens und je ein individuelles Zeichen enthielten. 1898 schlug das Generallandesarchiv das heutige Wappen vor, das erst 1960 endgültig angenommen wurde, wovon das Innenministerium am 24. März 1961 Kenntnis nahm. Die Flagge wurde vom Innenministerium am 29. September 1970 verliehen.
