George Hendy (born 15 October 2002) is an English rugby union player, currently playing as a full-back for Northampton Saints.
Hendy attended King Edward VI School, Stratford-upon-Avon.[3] He studied Geography at Loughborough University and competed for Stratford Athletics Club in track and field and played cricket to district level whilst representing Shipston on Stour RFC.[4]
During his youth career, Hendy played at fly-half or centre, but progressed into senior rugby as a full-back and has also been utilised on the wing.[5] He was initially in the academy of Worcester Warriors before joining the Northampton Saints. After playing for their under-18 side he joined up with the Saints’ Senior Academy, signing a professional contract in August 2021.[6][7]
He made his senior debut for Northampton against London Irish in the Premiership Rugby Cup in November 2021.[8] He scored five tries in his first nine appearances.[9] He started the first five league games of the 2023-24 season and scored four tries in eight appearances in all competitions in the opening months of the season.[10]
Hendy has been capped by England at under-20 level, and played in the 2022 Six Nations U20 Championship.[11]
