The Saxon (Hyppa rectilinea) a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in Europe, but mostly in northern and central Europe. In the south, it is found in scattered populations, mainly in mountainous areas. To the east, it’s range stretches through northern Asia and eastern Siberia, up to the Pacific Ocean.
The wingspan is 33-41 mm. Adults are on wing from the end of May to the beginning of August in one generation.
The larvae feed on the leaves of various plants, including Vaccinium myrtillus and other Vaccinium species, as well as Salix and Rubus.
