Jeffrey Browne (born 1955) is the president of the Collingwood Football Club.[1][2] He was elected to the position in late 2021.[3] Browne previously worked as an external lawyer for the Australian Football League (AFL) for 22 years.[4][5] He played for the Collingwood U19s in 1972.[6]
As well as being Collingwood president, Browne is chairman of MA Financial Group, Walkinshaw Automotive and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).[7] He was the managing director of Channel Nine from 2010 until 2013.[8]
Browne is the fourth president in a 12 month period.[9] He took over the role from Eddie McGuire after the former AFL president stood down over backlash following comments he made about the "Do Better" report.[10][11] Browne was appointed to the role in a unanimous vote,[12] replacing Mark Korda, who will remain on Collingwood's board.[13]
Korda informed the Collingwood board that he would step down as a director at the end of the 2022 AFL season.[14]
